A Study on the Interrelations Between the Menstrual Characteristics and Premenstrual Syndrome at Women College Student

Abstract

|
This study was performed to investigate the interrelations between the menstrual characteristics and premenstrual syndrome (PMS) at college student group.
A total of 131 women in College student wrote out the self-evaluated symptoms through the premenstrual assessment form, MSQ (menstrual symptomatology questionnaire) during the period from 1st of June to 10th of June, 1990.
The results of this survey were as follows:
1. The mean age of menarche was 1118 yeans old. The menstrual cycle was regular in 62.6% and irregular in 35.1%.
2. The correlation of menstrual characteristic to PMS was found as follows: taking analgesics during menstruation (p=.000).
